Surviving
Co-Parent Counselling

This three-session coaching package is designed for parents who are entering or currently participating in co-parent counselling in a high-conflict dynamic and want to remain regulated, credible, and strategically child-focused under emotional and interpersonal pressure.

The purpose is not to provide therapy or legal advice instead Angela helps clients navigate the counselling process with composure, clarity, and intention, so they can advocate for their child’s needs, protect themselves from reactive patterns, and communicate in a way that supports both credibility and long-term outcomes.

Overview

Session 1 – Regulation and Psychological Safety
  • Clients are taught practical self-regulation tools to manage anxiety, anger, and emotional activation before and during sessions. We identify personal triggers, high-conflict dynamics, and strategies for remaining grounded and coherent under pressure.
  • Regulate their nervous system before and during sessions to prevent emotional flooding, shutdown, or reactivity.
  • Recognize common high-conflict interaction traps and how to avoid being pulled into them.
Session 2 – Child-Focused Advocacy and Strategic Communication
  • Clients learn how to express concerns, requests and limits in language that is child-centered and non-inflammatory. We practice reframing reactive statements into calm, needs-based advocacy.
  • Advocate for their child’s needs clearly and calmly, even when the other parent is provocative, blaming, or manipulative.
  • Communicate in a way that is developmentally appropriate, solution-focused, and aligned with professional expectations.
Session 3 – Navigating Power Dynamics and Maintaining Positioning
  • We develop a strategy for ongoing participation in counselling, including how to respond to minimization, blaming, or subtle invalidation, while maintaining a cooperative, reasonable, and emotionally stable presentation.
  • Maintain boundaries while appearing cooperative and flexible
  • Translate concerns into child-centered language rather than grievance-based narratives.
  • Stay strategic when sessions become emotionally charged, derailed, or subtly adversarial.
Outcome

The outcome is a parent who can enter co-parent counselling emotionally regulated, strategically focused, and able to advocate for their child’s best interests without becoming reactive, defensive, or destabilized by high-conflict dynamics.

Disclaimer

The purpose is not to provide legal advice or influence lawyer findings.
